Nick Folino, The Ohio State University
Brief Bio: Nick is a senior getting his B.S. in Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University. Nick is originally from Painesville, Ohio which is just east of Cleveland. He has a passion for hardware and software technologies, which is the reason he chose the major. In his free time Nick loves to watch movies, cook, play video games, and play basketball.
Research and Academic Interests: Nick is currently doing research for OSU’s Nuclear Engineering Department where he is tasked with designing and building a radiation detector out of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device. The end goal of the research is to set the groundwork for future Nuclear Engineering coursework which teaches students about instrumentation that utilizes digital signal processing and analog-to-digital conversion to retrieve radiation data.
